Gore Mountain is one of the premiere ski resorts in the Adirondack Mountains, and is one of three ski areas owned by New York State. The resort is near North Creek, New York and draws skiers from all over the east coast. With 107 trails and a vertical of just over 2500 feet, Gore remains a favorite of skiers. If you’re heading in to Gore, you’re going to need someplace to lay your head and store your gear and there is no shortage of options for Gore Mountain lodging. Where you stay depends on what you’re looking for, be it a private B&B for two, or a classic inn or motel.

Local Bed and Breakfasts

Goose Pond Inn is the closest B&B to Gore Mountain, located right on Main Street in North Creek. There are four rooms available, each with a private bath, and each decorated with antiques and local memorabilia. There’s a large sitting area with a crackling fireplace each night, and breakfast is served each morning in a dining room that looks out over the pond in the back. Breakfast ranges from brandied French toast with sautéed apples, crepes with rhubarb sauce, to Belgian waffles with flambéed bananas. Goose Pond also offers ski and stay packages, so if you’re looking to save a little more, look into that option.

Other B&B options in the area include The Fern Lodge and Landon Hill in nearby Chestertown, NY. Fern Lodge has five rooms that look out over Friends Lake, each with gorgeous beds, deep Jacuzzi tubs and stone fireplaces. Breakfast at Fern Lodge is just as special as the rooms, with daily offerings served as multiple course, farm fresh breakfasts.

Local Classic Motels

If you’re looking for the classic motel experience, there are two excellent Gore Mountain lodging options just minutes from the slope. The Inn on Gore Mountain and the Gore Mountain Lodge both offer cozy and comfortable motel rooms with private baths and ample room to store your gear. Each room will sleep between two and four adults comfortably.  The Inn on Gore Mountain has 16 rooms, half of which have two doubles and a set of bunk beds, perfect for a vacationing family. If you’ve got a large group, you can rent the entire inn for a nominal fee. The attached cocktail lounge serves as a great après ski spot for catching up with newfound friends.

Gore Mountain Lodge is only three minutes from the lifts, with spacious comfortable rooms that were recently renovated. Each room has a Keurig coffeemaker for the adults and an Etch-A-Sketch for the kids. After a long day on the slopes, gather in one of the Lodge’s yurts around a wood stove to reminisce about your favorite runs of the day. Afterwards, cozy up under the blankets and let the snowmakers humming lull you to sleep. If you want to travel into North Creek, catch one of the convenient community shuttles that run during weekends and holidays.
