Mount Peter is a small ski area located near the New York/New Jersey border just minutes from Greenwood Lake near Warwick, NY. Despite its smaller size, a lot of skiers make Mount Peter a weekend destination, especially being only an hour’s drive from New York City. Waterstone also offers a 1-bedroom efficiency that has a full kitchen for skiers looking to prepare their own meals. For a more secluded stay, a private cottage next to the inn is available to rent. The cottage has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps four people.
Warwick Valley Bed & Breakfast is another favorite for Mount Peter lodging. Warwick is located near Warwick Village, home to many charming boutiques and restaurants for après ski activities. There are six rooms and a third floor loft for guests to choose from, each with a private bath, and one with its own gas fireplace. Breakfast starts with fresh fruit and continues with farm fresh eggs and local meats.
Peach Grove Bed & Breakfast has five rooms, three of which feature wood burning fireplaces. The rooms have queen beds, a sitting area, and private bathrooms. Breakfasts at Peach Grove include freshly made strata, omelets made to order, freshly baked scones with English curd, muffins, and sausage bread. Peach Grove also features peach preserves made at Beth’s Farm Kitchen in the Hudson Valley. One spoonful of these and you’ll be stocking your bags with a few extra jars for home.
If you aren’t looking for the seclusion of a B&B, there are still several choices for your Mount Peter lodging. Linden Motel offers simple rooms and efficiencies with kitchens right on the lake. Warwick Motel and Suites has comfortable and clean rooms that offer a basic place to sleep for skiers. If you’re looking for a no-frills place to stay, it doesn’t get much simpler than the rooms offered here.
